1 car, 3 climbers, 24 states. The road trip of a lifetime.
Join us as we Send The States!

Send The States will see three rock climber/environmentalist/ filmmakers set out across the United States on a journey of self discovery, adventure and awareness. We'll be spending the summer driving, camping, rock climbing and meeting new people in 24 states, leaving from New York City on May 16 and returning 10 weeks later.

Preserving the environment is critical to our future as people and as climbers, so to do our part, we have all become Leave No Trace certified trainers and we will be following the seven principles of Leave No Trace during the trip. We are also partnering with the Access Fund to highlight access issues and illuminate what climbers can do to preserve the environment and ensure our access to it.

We hope that our trip will inspire other people to pack up and get out there and to do so in a way that minimizes our impacts on the environment and ensures a sustainable environment for future generations. We also hope that other people will be encouraged to try rock climbing as an avenue to self fulfillment and healthy living and that women especially will see that the sport is welcoming to all.

The spirit of the trip will be captured on tape and made into a feature-length documentary.  It will show our struggles and triumphs as we travel on the road and explore the country while addressing environmental issues and furthering our abilities in the sport we love. It’s about exploration, meeting new people, experiencing new environments, and seeing what it takes for three people to spend nearly three months in one car, living with what we have and camping in the outdoors. You'll be able to share with us the pain and the laughs that go into preparing and partaking in this exciting journey.

You can follow us on the road by checking our diaries - which we hope to update at least once a week - and by checking out the photos that we'll be posting as often as we can. Also, see what other people have said about the project here.

We'd love to hear from and see people along the way, so please email us or use the form here to be in touch. You can also get added to our email list so that you can keep up with us and find out about the DVD release. Let us know what you think about the trip and what we're doing.

Thanks for visiting the site and happy travels!
