CRUX was founded in 2008 by Danielle & Meghan, two New York rock climbers, seeking to bring together LGBT climbers and to encourage new people to try the sport. The group already has over 50 members in the NYC/Westchester/Stamford area.

The main aim is to create a social network of active people interested in rock climbing but also to encourage people to excel at the sport.  We want the tri-state area and climbing to be well represented at the Gay Games and the Out Games, so as a group we'll help any interested members train for competition.
